Hans Peter Beeler è un chitarrista svizzero che con il singolo Shenyang Rain ha deciso di tributare una celebrazione agli anni passati a Shanghai. Per farlo ha coinvolto la cantante italiana Ari Korona, che interagisce con la sua base blues rock, figlia anche di un continuo scambio musicale con musicisti che proprio nella città cinese avevano la loro base.
Insomma, si tratta di una specie di cartolina proveniente dall’oriente. Un mondo sempre più compenetrato con quello occidentale, che in questo brano trova un ulteriore stimolo di avvicinamento. La chitarra di Beeler disegna riff apparentemente poco pretenziosi, ma sicuramente riusciti, donando alla composizione il giusto calibro.
E forse sta proprio qui il segreto del pezzo: nell’idea di non esagerare. E potrà sembrare un limite, al primo ascolto, visto che il mondo in cui viviamo è improntato proprio all’esagerazione, alla trasgressione a tutti i costi, spesso con risultati poco entusiasmanti.
Nel brano il compositore svizzero narra di una notte passata a girare per le strade di Shenyang nel 2018. Una notte rara: quella del record di pioggia a Shenyang. Dopo un vagabondaggio per il buio il nostro eroe è riuscito a ritrovare luce e strada, tornando a riconquistare anche una serenità che sembrava compromessa dall’acqua.

Hans Peter Beeler is a Swiss guitarist and with the single Shenyang Rain has decided to pay tribute to his years in Shanghai. To do this he involved the Italian female singer Ari Korona, who interacts with his blues rock base, continuous musical exchange with musicians who had their base in the Chinese city.
This is a kind of postcard from the East. A world increasingly interpenetrated with the Western one, which in this passage finds a further stimulus to approach. Beeler’s guitar draws apparently unpretentious riffs, but certainly successful, giving the composition the right caliber.
And maybe that’s the secret of the piece: the idea of not overdoing it. And it may seem like a limit, at first listen, given that the world we live in is marked by exaggeration, transgression at all costs, often with unexciting results.
In the song, the Swiss composer tells of a night spent wandering the streets of Shenyang in 2018. A rare night: that of the record rain in Shenyang. After a wandering in the dark, our hero managed to find the light and the road again, returning to regain a serenity that seemed compromised by the water.
